We live in a society now where shades of gray is actually acceptable now. The world is no longer black and white. We justify our actions now through shades of gray. "Oh, that one ice cream bar won't hinder me. I just exercised." "The doctor won't know if I ate that one chocolate bar. I'll just work harder next week."

Hence, the little white lies that spread. In "Every Single Women's Battle", Shannon Ethridge talks about these areas of grayness that hits almost every woman through the sexual sins of our society. This book explains that even though we aren't physically involved in anything, our minds can still commit adultery through our fantasy imaginations.  

Bearing Fruit

What does it mean to bear fruit abundantly? Most people when they hear "bear fruit", it's to have more and more children to fill the earth. That's what some select groups say. But other people have no idea what it means to "bear fruit". In this book by: Darlene Marie Wilkinson, she explains the secrets of the vine for women. Her husband is Bruce Wilkinson and he was the one that wrote the prayer of jabez. When Darlene explains how we can achieve abundance through our blessings to other people, it made my heart feel very peaceful for some reason.

I highly recommend this book to women all around the world who wants to "bear fruit" in abundance.

Have you ever wondered about miracles? Are they only things that Jesus did way back in the past or his disciples? What about those "Charismatic" people? In this book by Bruce Wilkinson, he talks about how to see the "signs" and how to be a servant to God's miraculous missions.

I personally learned a lot. I learned to be open to "nudges" as God gives me missions to accomplish. I confess that through my early college years, there were a lot of times when God would nudge me and I would ignore them because I was WAY out of my comfort zone. Looking back, I regret that I wasn't man enough to reach out and help someone else because of my selfishness.

The book's theme really goes with the modern-day churches. Almost everyone in America goes to some kind of religious organization. It's kind of scary what kinds of people profess themselves as Christians these days. They say they believe in God, but their actions show something completely different, and people just follow along with the Pastor. The scariest thing is that the congregation is being brainwashed and they don't even know it. So the lesson to be learned is not to trust the Pastor and deacons, but to also read the Bible and ask God to give you a discerning heart.

The Destined One

Lots of young people these days are always wondering when they will meet their fated one, the one that God destined for them to meet. Every young man that catches their eye, you think "Is he THE one, God?"

How do you know if HE's the one that God wants you to marry? Are there any signs or symptoms? There are lots of books out there that help deal with the process, but there are no specific books that teach you how to pray for your future husband.

In Robin Jones Gunn and Tricia Goyer's new book, "Praying for your Future Husband", it goes into specifics. It's like a step-by-step manual for young women looking for guidance to praying for their future husband.

I always thought that you just pray a list of husband qualifications to God, and somehow He will just bring you to the right guy. People have always told me that you "just know" when God has the right person for you.

In this book, readers learn about the authors' mistakes and experiences and get led to praying for their future husband as well as learning to change themselves to being Christ-like at the same time. 

The Dark Side

What does foster care, Satan worshippers, and the Vatican have to do with each other? In this book called, "The Canary List" by Sigmund Brouwer, EVERYTHING. Take a normal school teacher laden with grief with a dead daughter from cancer, divorced and has a five year old son and a twelve year old foster child, and you get a deep plot with the Cardinals and the whole "DaVinci Code" thing going on. This book is almost like the DaVinci Code with the whole Vatican cover-up deal, but in this book, there are unlikely characters that seem to make the plot more interesting as a whole. Not that many people can connect Cardinals with Satan worshippers at the same time as foster care children.

I don't want to spoil the book for other people, so I won't exactly say anything other than the fact that from the first word of the prologue, I was totally glued to my seat. It was a thriller that took readers to every nook and cranny, from America to Italy all in one wild ride.

I personally thought that there wasn't a straight ending, and it's more like the book had several endings that I didn't really get. I would advise readers not to read this at night, since the Satanic group mentioned gave me the chills, even in the morning. The author really knows how to describe things and the rituals and the chantings themselves gave me the creeps. Other than that, I would recommend this book.

Going Through the Narrow Path

Oftentimes, I will wonder why. Why do I have to wait? Why does everyone else around me have this, but I don't? When will it be my turn? I know God is telling me to wait, yet I don't have the patience. I guess sometimes we as humans have to experience it firsthand to be able to completely trust God and his timing.

Even my mom has told me to wait awhile. God will give you the perfect man in his own timing. I thought I was patient enough to wait for 21 years. Alright God, I waited long enough. I'm ready for a boyfriend.

So I took matters into my own hands. April Fool's, I fb the potential guy and ask him to go along with me in a fake relationship. It was all good, until the goodwill of my church friends back home did me in. They were all wishing my good luck and blessings about my relationship. It wasn't until I realized that I fooled a lot of people, and it wasn't a good prank. It was pretty funny at first. I made up a million things about the guy and so forth, but after awhile, my heart strings were pulled out by the people that really wished me well.

So instead of playing a prank like I thought, I actually damaged some trust I had going with various people. Not only did they wish me their blessings, since they thought it was my first relationship, they also sympathized with me when I went back to being single. I kind of regret doing this, since it was the first time I was in a relationship on the web.

So now, even though I have experienced a "short relationship", I will definitely not stray down the wider road following everyone, but making my way to the narrow path where God's open arms will be waiting for me at the finish line.
